Last week, you may have read my post for Veterans Day. I partnered with Folgers coffee to tell you the story of the Service Member in my life and bring you some tips on how to help our Veterans. After gulping down the Folgers this week (we love coffee), I started thinking about what I could do with the empty can.
I love the fact that the Folgers canister is red and black– no painting necessary and when I took the label off it looked like Santa! I just added simple Chalk Board Duct Tape and made a buckle out of white duct tape and that’s it! That is how easy this craft is. My kids loved doing this craft with me as well.
With Christmas just around the corner, this gift container is perfect to put rolled up dollar bills, small gifts for the neighbors, gift cards, candy or cookies in. I also thought you could stuff this with running goodies like gels, chews, a small Aquaphor or some Nuun to give to your running buddies.
It took me about 10 minutes to make and I think it turned out so cute. You could tie a ribbon around it or the kids were making it, they could glue some cotton balls on the lid.
I hope you like it!
What You’ll Need
1. An Empty small Folgers Canister– washed thoroughly and dried.
2. 13 Inch strip of Black Chalk Board Duct Tape.
3. 2 Inch strip of White Duct Tape.
4. Exacto knife
How to Make It
First— Thoroughly clean your Folgers can and remove the label.
Second— Using your Exacto Knife cut a 13-inch piece of Black Chalkboard Duct Tape. You could measure to center the tape on the canister, or eyeball like I did.
Third– Cut a 2-inch piece of the Whit Duct Tape. you could measure to cut the center square out, but I eye balled.
Fourth— Apply White “Buckle overlayed on the Black Duct Tape “Belt.”
All Done! It’s that easy
