Happy Friday! This week was interesting – so many haters out yesterday, wow! I had two nasty troll comments and some delightful people on my facebook page… Sending those people some good vibes and positive energy hoping that they may find something to do that makes them proud of themselves.
I try not to let these things bother me, but let’s be real, it leaves my heart a little heavy knowing that people can say some really hurtful things about others without any regard for someone’s feelings. Being honest and respectfully disagreeing with people is one thing, but saying cruel and hurtful words is uncalled for. Enough about that, on to the more positive.
I ran yesterday! I did a full 3 mile run!
The splits look a little all over the place because I live in the hills, but overall I’m thrilled with this. This is my first run in quite some time and it felt great. There was something really special about this run. I haven’t been out in 7 months, so I’ve really gotten used to my life without running. I have been saying for a while that my blog feels a bit flat and uninspiring to me, but the minute I got home from being out there, I picked up my pencil and began to write like I used to – it fell out of my head and onto the pages of my journal. It was bliss.
I am looking forward to sharing that with you in the near future. Running is my creative muse. It never fails me. The fact that I was so inspired to write proves to me that running is my connection to that inner part of my soul… the one that I can’t hear when busy with my day to day life.
We have some really fun activites going on this weekend with the kids. Even though it’s still very hot here, we are getting ready for Halloween. We are planning on heading over to a local farm which hosts a huge Pumpkin Festival. One of my children is in a band and will be performing their live concert this weekend, so we are really looking forward to seeing that. It’s going to be busy, but all exciting, fun stuff.
I’ve been slow in blogging partly because I’m addicted to a new (to me!) BBC show called Cranford. My nights are busy being entertained by the wonderful cast which includes Judy Dench, Michele Dockery and a few others from Downton Abby. If you like period series, you’ll like this.
So… I need to get back to Cranford.. On with the DIY!
I’ve had this project in my dashboard for months, not sure why I haven’t published it, I guess I didn’t love how the photos turned out – these capris are so adorable. The pictures didn’t do them justice, but I wanted to share nonetheless. They’re very easy to make. I just eyeballed the dots using a Clorox Bleach Pen.

A pair of performance cotton capri’s
A Clorox Bleach Pen
Rit Dye ( Optional)
How to Make It
After waiting 45 minutes, you should rinse the bleach from the pants by dipping them into cool water.
Once the pants are rinsed and dry, you can choose to leave them as white dots, or you can use a little fabric dye to apply some color. I used pink fabric dye to apply a uniform color across all of my “dots”, but any color would work.
How do you deal with hateful comments? Have you ever seen Cranford on the BBC? What other TV series or movies are you watching right now?
