A few weeks ago I started training for Boston and, despite the horrible race experience I had on this DAY, I am really excited and feel very strong. I am going into this training cycle with a very solid base of fitness and I BELIEVE I can run close to 3:30 come this April. However, I know that anything can happen that day and the best gift I can give myself is to let go of my attachment to the numbers and allow my body to do what it’s going to do on April 15, 2013.
I am doing my track workouts with the great people of FutureTrack running club. Every Tuesday night I hit the local High School and do my speed work with a great group of people. The nicest part about this is, there are several people training for Boston, even better part is that they are using the same plan as I am, and my Boston bound friend Wendy and I run at the same pace! Hallelujah! I love her and, as many of you know, when you suffer together, there is an instant bond. Perhaps because it’s Boston, but I am really motivated to stick to my plan, eat nutrient rich foods, get plenty of rest and suffer 🙂 as much as I can for the next 13 weeks.
So what else have I been up too? Really pretty boring stuff… I have been creating a multitude of recipes, many of which you will see right here on my blog in the next few months. This little one is my helper and the best taste tester ever…
My husband took down this ugly fluorescent light box from the early nineties (who the hell invented those eye sores?) and replaced them with these gorgeous recessed lights. It pays to marry a Seabee, they’re very handy around the house.
I had a lovely visit with my friend Jada, who I met and was friends with while we lived in Virginia. She and her husband moved to California as well and we all met up at the Santa Barbara Zoo with our families. Jada is running the Disneyland Tinker Bell Half Marathon this weekend! SO excited for her! This is her first and she has worked her tush off training for it.
It seems that my cat, Ghost, has a new penpal. His name is Marcus, aka Plump Orange Bean. Marcus lives at this house in Ohio. Ghost and Marcus are the odd couple, ying and yang, Ricky and Lucy, Wild E and the Roadrunner. These two are complete opposites and yet they have the most wonderful long distance relationship, go figure? They also seem to have all of the answers to life’s questions. They’re both stinkers. Here is Ghost reading a letter from Marcus…
Ghost hates getting his picture taken
This is Marcus right here…
Marcus is a photo whore

What questions about life do you have for Plump Orange Bean and Gloomy Grey Cat?
